Camps by Vivekananda Kendra
Vivekananda Kendra Arunachal Prant recently organized camps for Swasthya Rakshaks (Health Worker ) and Anandalaya Acharyas at VKV Kharsang. The Camp was inaugurated on 29th April 2014 by CO, Kharsang, Sri. L.Naham He praised the efforts of Vivekananda Kendra in the field of education and rural health care and advised the participants to learn the subjects thoroughly and serve the society thereafter. He fondly remembered his days in VKV as a student.
16 participants from Tirap and Changlang attended the Health Worker Camp, where basic health issues were discussed with some practical. The health sessions were common diseases and their signs and symptoms, balanced diet, cleanliness, role of Health workers etc.
In Anandalaya 12 partcipants from Tirap and Lohit participated. Experienced teachers shared their valuable knowledge with the participants. Activities were conducted with locally available materials like dry leaves, flowers etc.
Both the camps concluded on 3rd May 2014.

SAMSKAR VARGA PRASHIKSHAN SHIVIR, ITANAGAR
The Shibir schedule was from 4.30am to 10pm, in which various activities were taken, like Yoga, Gita for daily life, creativity session, games, workshop, Samskar Varga and Prerna se Punurutthan. Various sessions were taken by Taba Tatup (Prant Karyalaya Pramukh A.P.), Shri Kalyan Dutta (Maha Nagar Pramukh, Itanagar), Shri Tara Dajam (Nagar Pramukh, Itanagar), Shri Ashok Atale (Nagar Sanghatak, Itanagar) on subjects like “Bharatmata,” “Vivekananda Kendra in Arunachal Pradesh”, “Eknathji and Vivekananda Rock Memorial (VRM)”, “Samskar Varga Kyu? Aur Samskar Varga Kaise?”and “Our culture, our pride, our life.”

PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT CAMP AT ITANAGAR
Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti, Branch Itanagar organized a five days Personality Development Camp for the students of Class 8th to 12th from 24th to 28nd March at VKV Nirjuli, Itanagar. The main motto of the camp is to give future leaders a positive direction and to inculcate patriotism, Cultural value, self discipline and the attitude of Social Service, with the twine ideal of Vivekananda Kendra “Man Making - Nation Building” through the various sessions on Yoga, Drama, Tejas, lecture, concentration, memory development games & group discussion.
A total of 90 participants from various schools took part in the camp. In all 7 sessions were taken on various topics for the personality Development of an individual.
The Camp was introduced by Shri Taba Tatup, Prant Karyalaya Pramukh, Arunachal Prant. He welcomed all the participants in the camp and advised to take the benefit of such camps. He also exhorted the participants to carry forward the positive attitudes, good personalities and set an example in the society.
Dr.Mika Umpo, Microbiologist & Head of IRL (for TB), Directorate of Health.Services took a session on “Time Management”. In his session he mentioned that punctuality is the mother of confidence as `Time tides waits for none` and doing things as we desire in a selected time is called time management also said for today’s generation do the right thing in the right way at the right time.
Shri C.C.Namchoom, Asst Professor, D.N College took session about “Patriotism in Action.” He stated that changing yourself for the betterment of your own society and Nation, Love your country.
Shri Tara Dajam, Nagar Pramukh, Itanagar gave a lecture on the topic “Our Culture-Our life-Our Pride”. In his lecture he informed that the way of our life, culture is the set of belief system and it includes our attitude, systematic discipline. You should know our culture and must be faith on your in god, duty to preserve our culture in our day to day life. Should not be fallow converted rule.

Shri Tako Siga took session on “Vivekananda Kendra in Arunachal Pradesh”, he summarized what exactly does VK in A.P. Shri Eknathji Ranade did a tremendous work in education through VKV. “Education is the manifestation of the perfection already in man.” Education is not the amount of information that is put into your brain and runs riot there, undigested all your life. Vivekananda Kendra imparts education, man-making, character-building, assimilation of ideas. He discussed his own experience in Kendra and his contribution for society through Kendra.
Dr. Lala Wage, Dental Surgen, took a session on the topic of “Health and Hygiene”. In his session he viewed that without health, life is not life, it is only a state of languor and suffering. He suggested that Yoga is the best way to keep you healthy, and he explained dental hygiene play a important role for your health.
Concluding session was taken by Shri Ashok Atale, Nagar Sangathak of Vivekananda Kendra Itanagar, briefly explained what our country now wants are whole devotion for your country, gigantic wills which nothing can resist, and increase your strength from inside the body, like Veer Savarkar. He suggested that what was taught in the five day camp to improve oneself, and for the development of the Nation is to be applied in the our daily life.
PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT CAMP AT DAPORIJO
APORIJO, Mar 19: With the mission taught by Swami Vivekananda of ‘Man Making - Nation Building’, the Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti, Daporijo branch organized a three days residential camp for youngsters of class VI to XI standard from March 10 at VKV Kuporijo. Around 30 participants from various schools took part in the camp, which had lecture sessions on character building, time management and development of an extrovert attitude taught by invited resource persons. Activities like meditation, yogabyas and memory capacity development were also conducted during the camp.

Pariksha De Haste Haste at Itanagar
Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti Conducted “Pariksha de haste Haste” an exam based workshop for the college student in Dera Natung Govt. College auditorium. The three day workshop was conducted from 14th to 16th February 2014.
The workshop was conducted by resource persons of Sri Tara Dajam Nagar Pramukh, Itanagar, Sri P.N. Singh Teacher G.M. School Jollang, Sri Kalyan Dutta, Mahanagar Pramukh, Vivekananda Kendra, Itanagar. Conducted various sessions on exam related elements like concept of exam, concentration memory power, importance of and yoga for exam etc.

Chale Gaon Ki Aur Programme at Mechuka
The main objective of this programme was to understand the value and
conditions of the remote villages of our state and make feel that they
are also an integral part of the country. The karyakartas have conducted
several programmes in Govt. Higher Secondary School, Govt. Town Primary
School Mechuka and Govt. Primary school Dichangtang on education and
health related programmes like class room teaching, creative activities
for skill development and confident building measures, Yoga for physical
fitness, games for developing memory and concentration power, drama for
general awareness and social services etc.
Addressing the concluding programme Mechuka ADC Ravi Dhawan appreciated
the team of VKAJ who have come all the way from different parts to serve
the people of the remote place. Such activities are very much necessary
in the present day context for the students who are almost cut off from
rest to gap the sense of alienation from the mainstream and.
Apart from class room teaching and learning other co-curricular
activities are utmost important for the student, he said. Kamlera
Moshing, ASM, Mechuka, also expressed his gratitude to the VKAJ team for
their excellent job in their endeavor to imbibe such confidence
building measures among the students to bring about optimistic changes
in their life. Participants from various schools also shared their
experiences and expressed their gratefulness to the karyakartas for
spending some days with them for good cause.
FREE
OPERATION CAMP BY VKAJ
The Free Operation Camp organized by Vievakananda Kendra Arun Jyoti in
collaboration with Remote Area Medical, Knoxville, USA, concluded successfully on 8th
February at Central Hospital, CIL, Margherita, Assam. A total 44 patients were
operated for Gall Stone diseases, hernia, appendicitis and other ailments during
the camp which was inaugurated on 3rd February by Sri.Y.Matey,
Parliamentary Secretary of DOTCL, Govt.of Arunachal Pradesh. In his inaugural speech he appreciated the efforts of VKAJ in
the field of rural health care in eastern parts of Arunachal Pradesh and assured all possible help from his side. He very fondly mentioed
the brotherhood ties between the people of Margherita and the people of Arunachal and wished that it should contine. 6 NRI Doctors came from America to provide this
voluntary service to the poor and needy patients of Arunachal Pradesh.
A total 210 patients registered their names during the pre-screening. Out of them 43 patients were screened for surgeries. 37 endoscopies were done for patients suffering from various abdominal related diseases like Gastritis, ulcers etc. It is to be mentioned that Mitra Medical LLP provided machines to conduct endoscopies free of cost for the patients.
Most of the patients were from Changlang,Tirap and Longding districts of
Arunachal
Pradesh. The most encouraging fact that many patients from very remote
Vijaynagar circle came all the way to avail the benefits. This camp already
completed glorious seven years and more than 300 patients were operated without
any complications. The NRI Doctors also feel that there is need of this service
and are eager to visit again next year.
