Sadhana Diwas celebrated at Kamki

Ignited Youth Forum of Donyi-Polo Government College, Kamki Unit, celebrated Sadhana Diwas at "100 Girls Residential School" in Kamba circle.

 

The Sadhana Diwas is celebrated on the birth anniversary of Vivekananda Kedra founder Sri Eknathji Ranade. The program was attended by 65 person on Wednesday, 19th November 2025

 

Welcome Address was delivered by Miss Bompi Kamki, Significance of day spoke by Dr. Devashish Adhikari ji, who is serving as Doctor in Vivekananda kendra Arunjyoti since past 18years, while Lifeworker of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari Sri Vikrant bhai told about how the Vivekananda Kenra work started in Arunachal Pradesh by Ma. Ekanath ji. At the end of the program Principal Shri Pagke Ete  ji delivered thevote of thanks.

Free Multi Specialty Medical Camp by VK Arun Jyoti

A Free Multi Specialty Medical Camp was organized by Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti Arunachal Pradesh on 28th May 2023 at Govt. Secondary School, Yealiang, Sunpura, Dist- Lohit in association with Rotary Club Tinsukia, The Mishmi Takin Riders and VKV Alumni Association Lohit and Anjaw Chapter. Dr. Rashmita Upadhayay(Medicine Specialists), Dr. Neena Dey Das(Child Specialist), Dr. Swaraj Bhattacharya(Eye Specialist) ,Dr. Harshit Bakulsaria(Dental Surgeon) and Dr. Snehil Bakulsaria(Skin specialist) from Rotary Club Tinsukia and the mobile medical unit of VK Arun Jyoti rendered their valuable services to 242 patients of greater Sunpura area. Free medicines were given to all the patients. Few pairs of reading glasses were provided to some elderly eye patients. 

The volunteers of Rotary Club, The Mishmi Takin Riders and VKV Alumni Association Lohit and Anjaw Chapter assisted the whole day camp to make it a successful one. The local administration had given wide publicity for the program. The ZPM of Sunpura, Smt. Angen Chaitom arranged the lunch and refreshment for the medical and volunteer team.  

 

Guru Purnima celebrated at Roing Arunachal Pradesh

Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoati, Roing branch organized Guru Purnima on 2nd July 2023 at Donyi Polo Ganggin Roing along with the prayer centre members, public and VKAJ Roing Nagar Samiti Karyakartas.  A total of 50 were participated in the programme.

The program began by the Ganggin prayer and then welcome address by Sri Yashik (Siang Vibhag Sampark Pramukh) and Shri Ashok Atale ji, Jeevanvarti Karyakarta gave a brief Introduction about Karyakartas and  Vivekananda Kendra its work.

The main objective of the celebration was to felicitate our unsung priests of the communities of Lower Dibang Valley, hence a priest of Idu Mishmi community, Shri Risha Miso and a priest from the Adi community, Smt. Toni Jini was Felicitated and speech on importance of the day by Sri Kruleso Ngadong, Lohit Vibhag Pramukh behalf of the VKAJ, Roing Nagar to acknowledge and appreciate their contribution and service to the society.

Vote of thanks was given by Smt. Bengia Sumila Linggi, Nagar Pramukh Roing, the program was concluded followed by prayer.

The Power of Mind Book Launch at Tezu

 

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Arunachal Prant, Vivekananda Kendra Arunjyoti, Tezu launched the book titled 'The Power of Mind’, a compilation by Vivekananda Kendra. The book launch event took place at Government Higher Secondary School, Tezu-II, on 16th August 2023, as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration.   

The book was launched by Sri. Hage Hassang, the Principal of Govt. Hr. Sec. School Tezu – II, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, he encouraged the students to delve into the contents of the book and acquaint themselves with the stories of remarkable freedom fighters from the North East. He fervently shared his hope that by learning about these inspiring figures, the students would be motivated to contribute to the progress and well-being of our nation in their most meaningful ways.

Sri. Champak Kakati, Principal of VKV Tezu, conveyed the importance of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. He underscored that the youth holds the nation's future, and their capable leadership will drive its development.

During the program, Sri. Ashok Atale, Lohit Vibhag Sangathak of Vivekananda Kendra, delivered a speech. He illuminated the contents of the book ‘The Power of Mind’, providing valuable insights to all those present.

The book inauguration took place in the presence of Class XI and XII students of the school, a total of around 95 participants.

The event was graced by the presence of Smt. Ibulu Tayang, Vyavastha Pramukh of VKAJ Tezu, and Sri Rominso Mam, Lohit Vibhag Karyapaddhati Pramukh.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Smti. Sailu Bellai, Nagar Sanchalak of VKAJ Tezu.

A wonderful experience by Doctor

This is a real life story of a little angel, Kumari Chansu Pangtha, now eight years old. She lives in a very remote village near Kharsang town.

The name of her village is Namchik Hawi inhabited by a very small sub-tribe of Tangsa i.e. Hawi. The villagers are very poor and less educated. I saw her for the first time in November 2020, when I attended Rangfraa Day celebration in their village. I saw a little girl walking, rather limping, with the help of a stick. I thought that she was playing with her friends like this. After the program was over, I asked someone about her and he told me that few months ago she injured herself by falling from her Chang Ghar. After that incident, she can’t walk properly. I enquired if she got any medical treatment and was answered negatively. I immediately called her mother and examined the child. I found some swelling near her right hip joint and she felt pain when I pressed that area. I told her mother to take her to the nearby hospital for a hip joint x-ray and inform me afterwards. I requested our well wishers to do the follow up and keep in touch with me. After a few days, they send me the x-ray report. I discussed the case with some of my Orthopedic friends and they told me that without clinical examination it is difficult to diagnose. By that time the second wave of Corona started and it became really difficult to bring her out for diagnosis and treatment. So, I contacted Dr. Sunil Godbole, one renowned orthopedic surgeon from Nashik and shared her x-ray reports. He told me to share some of her videos so that he could get some idea. I went to her village and took some videos and shared with Dr. Godbole Sir. He told me that it is not a fracture or dislocation case and thorough investigation is needed to find out the cause. The nearest higher centre is Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh but due to Corona, they didn’t want to come. We tried to convince them but suddenly her father died of TB. During that period Missionaries of Charity people came to their village for medical camp and they also noticed her. They wanted to provide her medical help but the villagers told that as Vivekananda Kendra Medical Team is looking after the case, they should contact us. Felix Anthony, the Father of the Miao church contacted me and had expressed his wish to bring her to Dibrugarh. He requested that we should take initiative to admit her in Hospital as the family and the villagers are close and comfortable with us. I contacted Dr. Hemanta Kumar Dutta, HOD of Pediatric Surgery Department and Dr. Kinkar Mahanta, Associate Professor, of Pediatric Surgery Department and fixed an appointment. The child was shifted to Dibruagarh in an ambulance and she was admitted. After thorough investigation, she was diagnosed with bone TB. The treatment started immediately and she started responding. Two of our Karyakartas, Sri Songe Pangtha and Sri W.Mandok stayed with her for one month. We were in touch with them for the entire period and ensured that there shouldn’t be any problem. Some of my local contacts of Dibrugarh Medical College helped a lot during that period. After one month, she was discharged but she had to continue her treatment for eight more months. We provided her nutritional supplements during her treatment period. I was in a regular contact with them to know her progress and met her a few occasions when I visited her village. She was recovering fast. 

I was so glad to meet her yesterday i.e. 23rd June 2023 when I was in her village for a medical camp. Now she can walk without any support. She is growing and glowing, playing with her friends and going to primary school regularly. May God bless her.

Dental and Medical Camp

 

Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti Arunachal Pradesh conducted free Dental Consultation Camps in various schools of East Siang, West Siang and Siang districts of Arunachal Pradesh from 14 th to 17 th September 2022. Dr. Arjun Vaishnav and Dr. Shiwani Diwakar from Bhilwara, Rajasthan rendered their valuable services. The team conducted dental awareness program also. They screened more than 900 students at VKV, Oyan, Donyi Polo Vidya Niketan, Norlung, VKV, Jirdin, primary and secondary school, Kombo, JNV, Kombo and primary school, Pakeng. Two Free Medical Camps were also organized by the Mobile Medical Team at Kombo village of West Siang district and Pakeng village of Siang district. 262 patients were examined and free medicines were provided to the patients.

Free Eye Screening Camp by VK Arun Jyoti

 

Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti Arunachal Pradesh organized a free eye screening camp at Wakro CHC, Lohit district from 1^st June to 3^rd June 2022. Dr. Udayan Dixit, a highly experienced Ophthalmologist from Pune, Maharastra came voluntarily to render his valuable services. A total of 154 patients were screened during the camp for various eye ailments. Patients from all the villages of Wakro circle including the remote villages came to avail of the benefit. 28 patients were found with cataracts and they will be operated on soon. 110 pairs of spectacles were distributed free of cost. Eye medicines were given to patients.

Earlier on 1^st June, the camp was inaugurated by Sri Tamo Riba, EAC, Wakro. In his inaugural speech, he lauded the efforts of Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti in the field of primary health care in the eastern part of Arunachal Pradesh and assured all possible help for such venture in the future also. This is to be mentioned that Dr. Dixit had visited Arunachal Pradesh earlier and he conducted such camps in Khonsa and Longding with Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti in 2019 and 2020.    

Free Mega Medical Camp at Riga village

The Swasthya Seva Manch (Health Service Forum) of Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti, Arunachal Pradesh organized a Mega Free Medical Camp at Riga village of Siang district on 14^th and 15^th December 2021. On 14^th December, the camp was formally inaugurated by Honorable MLA, Sri Ojing Tasing. The District Medical Officer of Siang District, Extra Assistant Commissioner of Riga and Zilla Parishad Member of Riga were also present during the inauguration. Along with the regular Doctor of Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti, the following Doctors participated in the camp-

1.      Dr. Tunu Taki( Physician)

2.      Dr.Kaling Tatin(Pediatrician)

3.      Dr. Tiyang Taga (Orthopedic Surgeon)

4.      Dr. Genom Panggang(ENT Surgeon)

5.      Dr. Freeda Tamut(Physician)

The medical team treated 367 patients and free medicines were provided to the patients. Many patients from nearby villages also attended the camp. The local youths and women self help groups of Riga village extended their support to the medical team to make the camp a successful one. The Peging welfare association arranged the accommodation of the medical team.   

MISSION SHAKTI: An Updated Report

Vivekananda Kendra Swasthya Seva Sadan, Laipuli, Tinsukia, Assam and Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti, Arunachal Pradesh in association with India Development and Relief Fund (IDRF), USA started an anaemia detection and eradication program, MISSION SHAKTI for women in 16 villages in Tinsukia district of Assam and Changlang , Tirap and Namsai districts of Arunachal Pradesh. The program was launched on 1^st January 2021. Our team conducted 16 camps and examined 1381 women. 716 women (12 yrs to 45 yrs) were screened for Anaemia and 206 women were found as acutely anaemic by March 2021. Almost 30% women were found as acute anaemic. Counselling of anaemic women were done and they were informed about their iron deficiency and were advised to consume iron rich locally available food like dark green leafy vegetables , banana flower etc.  All anaemic women were provided with Iron Folic Acid supplements. Initially, we provided them supplements for three months. After three months, second round of Haemoglobin estimation will be done to see the impact. We have already done the second round of screening in one village and it was found that the haemoglobin level has been substantially increased in all the four anaemic women of that village.

It is a research work as we are working in various ethnic groups of Tinsukia district and Eastern Arunachal Pradesh. The communities included are tea tribes, Tangsa, Ahom, Missing, Sonowal Kachari, Motok and Hindi speaking migrants. As per the present data available with us, it is found that in Missing community, anaemia is more prevalent as we found nearly 60% women are anaemic. So, we are planning to include a few more Missing villages in the second phase. Along with conducting medical camps, we are studying the food habits of various ethnic groups, their life styles, their way of growing nutritious vegetables etc. to find a holistic solution to eradicate anaemia.      

Universal Brotherhood Day Program at Tinsukia

Universal Brotherhood Day was celebrated on 11^th September 2020 by Vivekananda Kendra Medical Centre, Laipuli, Tinsukia and Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti, Arunachal Pradesh at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Laipuli, Tinsukia, Assam. The program started with Three Omkara and Santi Path. Sada Vivekanandamayam song was presented by Kum. Purnima. Dr. Debashis Dey Adhikary explained about the significance of the day. He even mentioned about the completion of 50 years of Vivekananda Rock Memorial at Kanyakumari. Sri Guru Charan Das, Principal, VKV, Laipuli shared the details about Universal Brotherhood Day. Then various points mentioned in the letter sent by Ma. Nivedita Didi from Kanyakumari was discussed and Sri Sagar Lad initiated it. Then we discussed various VK activities of our projects during pandemic. DR.B.Roy, Sri Guru Charan Das, Kum. Purnima and Gagan Majumder shared their experiences about medical, academic and relief works during this extra ordinary situation.

Sri Ram Gopal Agarwalla and Sri Samiran Bose, both are members of our Vidyalaya Management Committee also present during the program. A total 18 people participated and physical distancing and other Covid 19 protocols were strictly maintained during the program. The program was concluded with Santi Mantra.

Basic Health Camps and Ration distribution by Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti

Due to the current Covid 19 situation and travel restrictions, the Mobile Medical Unit of Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti had to suspend its regular medical activities in Arunachal Pradesh from last three months. As monsoon has already started, seasonal diseases like flu, fever, common cold, diarrhea, dysentery and fungal infections of skin are rising.  To respond this situation, our Swasthya Seva Manch team decided to conduct a few basic health camps in some remote villages of Kantang and Khimiyong circles of Changlang district. We sent some basic medicines to them and four villages were selected for camps. Our Health Workers, Sri Holang Wangrey, Sri Thampu Tangha, Sri Thungsam Tangha and Sri Repu Rekhung conducted four camps at Chingsa, Sohelaktong, Yanman and Makantong from 9^th to 12^th July. Heavy rainfall and landslide in some places made their task very difficult but they successfully reached to all the villages and conducted the camps. A total 180 villagers were treated during the camps. To give maximum benefits to the villagers, out team had done tele consultation for the first time. Through video calling, our health workers contacted our Doctor and he advised what medicines should be prescribed to patients, who were seriously ill. . It was a new experience for the team. Along with the basic health camp our team educated the villagers about the outbreak of Corona virus and preventive measures .Similarly the Health Worker team of Wakka circle of Longding districts is also conducting basic health camps in their areas. Few weeks back, we sent some basic medicines to Lazu circle also and our team conducted such camps at Pongkong, Longliang and Lazu villages.

Meanwhile, under our Project Poshan (A nutritional Initiative by Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti and IDRF, USA) program, like previous month, our team distributed 5 k.g. rice to 510 children in the month of June 2020. The beneficiaries were from Pongkong, Longliang, Raho and Lazu villages of Tirap district and Khanu and Wakka villages of Longding district. This occasion, our team called the parents and handed over the rice bag to their hands.

 We received the information that 31 families of Sanliam village of Lazu circle are in great difficulty because of current situation and our team distributed 5 k.g. of rice to every family. Sri Jenlong Sapong of Lazu area and Sri Saikhang Sir of Wakka area took the whole responsibility for smooth distribution of rice. All the Karyakartas were involved.       

Guru Purmina observation by VK Medical Centre, Tinsukia

The Vivekananda Kendra Medical Centre, Laipuli, Tinsukia observed Guru Purnima on 5^th July 2020. The program was attended by the Karyakartas of VK Medical Centre, VK Arun Jyoti and Principal of VKV, Tinsukia. Total participants were 12. Because of current covid 19 situation, physical distancing was maintained during the program.

The program started with Three Omkar and Guru Stotra and followed by Guru Bhajan. Dr. Debashis Dey Adhikary explained the significance of Guru Purnima and why Vivekananda Kendra worshipped Omkar as our GURU. Sri Surendra Kulkarni read out the latter of Ma. Nivedita Bhide Didi about Guru Purnima. Sri Guru Charan Das, Principal, VKV, Tinsukia enlightened the members about the Guru parampara of Bharat. After the discussion, meditation was done for few minutes and finally the program was concluded with Kendra Prarthana. 

Free Eye Screening Camp in Longding District

Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti Arunachal Pradesh conducted a free eye screening camp at Longding district in association with Longding District Administration and VKV Alumni Association, Longding Unit from 27^th February to 1^st March 2020. The camp was held at CHC, Longding from 27^th to 29^th February and at VK Vocational Training Centre, Wakka on 1^st March. During this four day camp, 227 eye patients from most of the remote villages of Longding district were examined by Dr. Udayan Dixit, a renowned Ophthalmologist from Pune for various eye diseases. More than 125 pairs of spectacles were distributed free of cost. A total 12 patients were diagnosed with cataracts. The rest were treated with eye medicines. A few patients were referred to higher centers.  

     The camp was formally inaugurated by Chesta Yadav, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Longding on 27^th February.During her brief speech, she appreciated the initiative of Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti in the field of rural health services and assured all possible help in future also. The Doctor and his team were felicitated and Dr.Wangnai Wangsu ,MO i/c introduced the team. Dr. Udayan Dixit praised the efforts put in by VKAJ for the camp arrangement and shown his willingness to come again to this remote part of our country to serve the poor and needy.

The camp was very successful as Dr.Dixit bought some special equipment to examine eyes of the patients. It is heartening to know that he purchased a portable auto refractometer for our outreach camps. With the help of this new machine, he could examine more patients per camp with cent percent accuracy.       

Reaching to the unreached: A True Story

In the month of June 2019, we the Swasthya Seva Team of Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti Arunachal Pradesh was on our monthly visit to Wakka circle of Longding district. Suddenly we got to know that one young boy from Wakka village is seriously ill and his father Sri Onggang Gangsa, a Panchayat Samiti Member and well-wisher of Vivekananda Kendra desperately wanted to meet us to get some guidance from us. We went to his house at Wakka village and he told us that his son Sri Gangsom Gangsa is seriously ill and they bought him to Dibrugarh for treatment. They stayed in Dibrugarh for two weeks and did several tests and Doctors told that he is suffering from gastric ulcer and given him medicines. They went back to Wakka but his condition was deteriorating. The villagers also told us that the boy will not survive as he was sinking every day. We went to see the boy. We had seen that his belly is swollen and he become very thin. With a great difficulty, he told us about his discomforts. We checked all his investigation reports and found that along with gastric ulcer, he was suffering from abdominal tuberculosis also. The Doctors from Dibrugarh might had explained this to them but some miscommunication was there. We took photographs of the boy and his investigation reports and next day met the District Tuberculosis Officer of Tirap, Dr.Jayanti Thingnok. She took the case very seriously and told us to bring the boy immediately to District Hospital, Khonsa. She even instructed Dr. P.R. Rakshit of District Hospital, Khonsa to start immediate treatment as soon as the boy reaches Khonsa. We informed accordingly and next day they arrived at Khonsa and he was admitted in the hospital and treatment started for tuberculosis. Fortunately, he started responding to treatments. After six months of intensified treatment, he completely got cured. On 31^st December 2019, he was discharged and returned to Wakka. During his whole course of treatment, we were in regular touch with his father. After his discharge, his father informed us and thanked whole heartedly for the efforts we put in.

On 9^th January 2020, we again visited the house of Sri Onggang Gangsa and to our surprise; Sri Gangsom Gangsa came out from their hut to welcome us. We were surprised to see him. Is this the same boy, we met six months earlier? He was so happy to see us and it was an emotional moment for all of us.

We thank everyone, who helped the young boy to get back his healthy self. May he be blessed with a happy and healthy life.  

Free Cataract Surgery Camp at Chapakhowa

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, in association with District Blindness Control Society, Tinsukia

conducted one Free Cataract Surgery Camp at First Referral Unit, Chapakhowa, Assam on 30 th October

2019. Dr. G.S. Gogoi, Ophthalmologist of Tinsukia Civil Hospital and his OT team, rendered their valuable

services during the camp. 26 elderly and needy patients of the nearby villages were successfully

operated during the camp. The surgery camp was supported by India Development and Relife Fund,USA.

This is to be mentioned that this is the fourth such camp in this financial year and we operated a total 96

patients successfully. We have a target of 200 surgeries by March 2020.

Annual Activity Report 2015-16

Free Medical Camps at Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh

Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti organized a few free medical camps in Namsai district from 14th to 17th June 2016. Medical Camps were organized at Krishnapur and Kumari Khamti of Mahadevpur circle, Nongtaw Shyam of Piyong circle, Bhogamur and Mengkang Miri of Namsai circle. A total 669 patients were examined in these camps and free medicines were distributed accordingly.

All Lekang Youth and Student Union, Mahadevpur (ALYSU) office bearers and volunteers associated with Vivekananda Kendra for the camps of Mahadevpur area. 

The CDPO of Namsai collaborated with the mobile medical team of Arun Jyoti and under the SABLA scheme for adolescent girls of ICDS; Iron Folic Acid (IFA) tablets were distributed to the anemic girls after a thorough health check-up in Namsai and Piyong circle. The CDPO, Namsai provided the IFA capsules for the entire camp.The Doctor of the medical team interacted with the Anganwadi workers and PRI members of the villages in the above mentioned villages and encouraged the pregnant women for ANC and institutional delivery.   

It is to be mentioned that Dr.K.Subramaniam, a Vivekananda Kendra well-wisher Doctor from Chennai donated some medicines for our free camps and the medicines contributed by him were extensively used during the recent camps.

Guru Purnima Programe in Various Prayer Centre

2nd August, 2015: Vivekananda Kendra Arun Joyti, this year also conducted Guru Purnima Programe in Various Prayer Centre of Arunachal Pradesh located in all the District In all six places of state capital the message of Guru-Shishya Parampara was conveyed. The Guru Purnima is celebrated on the eve of birthday of Maharishi Ved Vyas who has collected and compiled the voluminous store of in depth Knowledge of indigenous faith discovered by seers over the ages, which was on the verge of extinction and started Gurukul system. To preserve and protect it he considered Father of the family as Guru in a Micro level.

In Central Nyder Namlo, Doimukh. Shri T.T. Tara DDSE spoke on the importance of Guru Purnima and Shri Nabam Atumji felicitated the Revered Priest Shri Techi Rintu of Rono village Nyeder Namlo and Shri Tana Tath of Kheel Nyeder Namlo.

In Nyeder Namlo, Pachin Colony, Naharlagun. Vivekananda Kendra Karyakartas took active initiative and felicitated Priest. Revered Priest Beloved Tadar Sonu was felicitated by Shri Kalyan Dutta, Mahanagar Pramukh, Vivekananda Kendra, Capital Complex and Shri Taba Tatup, Prant Karyalaya Pramukh for his remarkable contribution in the welfare of people in Arunachal Pradesh. While speaking on the Importance of the day Shri Kalyan Dutta pointed that this is the Day to remember our whole tradition of Guru starting from Ved Vyas to offer our respect to the Guru to Guides us in life, who has handed over the tradition of knowledge and wisdom to us. This is also a day to express our gratitude and commitment to the Guru for carrying forward our culture vibrantly with the vision of Krinvanto Vishwamaryam-Let us make the whole world Noble.

He appealed all the father and mother of the family to maintain quality of Guru to make a child an Ideal Citizen of the mother land.

In Naharlagu Nyeder Namlo at E–Sector Priest Smti Gyamar Deriang was felicitated by Shri Rekhi Tana Tara, Chairman Central Nyedar Namlo, Arunachal Pradesh.

In Hollongi Nyeder Namlo Priest Shri Dur Talo Camdir was felicitated by one of the Senior teacher Shri Pankaj and Shri Romin Rava, Karyakarta of Vivekananda Kendra.

In Donyi Polo Gangging, Itanagar also Vivekananda Kendra conducted Gurupurnima function. The celebration was started by the chanting of prayer by Taabe (Priest) Shri Tamak Komut. The importance of the day was highlighted by Dr. V.N. Sharma, State Liaison officer, NSS who is also a Vivekananda Kendra Karyakarta. He also felicitated Revered Taabe Mukge Tayeng of Donyi Polo Gangging at Itanagar.

In Meder Nello E-Sector, Itanagar. Revered Priest Milo Tanyo was felicitated by Shri P.N. Singh, Senior teacher. The Meder Nello committee member welcomes all the Kendra Karyakarta with Khada (muffler) as a mark of respect.

Medical Camps byVivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti

Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti recently conducted free medical camps in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh. On 19^th July the team organized camp at Niaunu village in collaboration with All Niaunu Student Association (ANSA). 435 patients were examined and free medicines were distributed. District Health Society (National Vector Borne Disease Control Program), Longding district distributed 150 Long Lasting Medicated Mosquito nets at the same venue. DVBDC Program Officer, Dr. W.Wangsu was present during the camp. On 20^th July the medical team of Arun Jyoti conducted the camp at Govt.Middle School, Niausa. 144 patients were examined and medicines were distributed accordingly.

Free Eye Screening Camp by Vivekananda Kendra

As a part of Mananeeya Eknathji Janma Sati Parva , the founder of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, a Free Eye Screening and Dental Camp was organized at Kanubari Community Health Centre of Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh on 18th June 2015. The camp was organized by Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti in association with Lion K.K.Saharia Eye Hospital, a premier Eye Hospital of Dibrugarh, Assam. The eye team screened 78 patients and 8 cataract patients were identified. The patients will be operated free of cost at K.K.Saharia Lion Eye Hospital,Dibrugarh.The other patients were advised for spectacles and free medicines were distributed amongst them. 

Dr. Amit Singh, BDS also examined more than 100 patients for various dental diseases. He talked to the students about oral hygiene and proper brushing technique.

The camp was inaugurated by Sri S.S.Choudhury, ADC of Kanubari. He lauded the efforts of Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti in the field of rural health care and assured all possible help from his side. In the coming days more such camps will be conducted in different parts of Arunachal Pradesh in association with Lion K.K.Saharia Eye Hospital, Dibrugarh.
